The chorus delivered a powerhouse set on the SoKno Pride main stage on June 20th, drawing one of the largest crowds of the afternoon.

On June 20th, 2026, the Appalachian Equality Chorus brought the house down at the SoKno Pride main stage in Knoxville. Performing to a packed and enthusiastic crowd, the ensemble showcased an energetic, joyful set that celebrated love, identity, and community. It was a landmark moment for the chorus and a testament to the power of music in advocacy.

Fall 2026 Auditions Now Open in Knoxville & Johnson City

New voices are welcome. Auditions are open to all voice types and experience levels — no classical training required.

The Appalachian Equality Chorus is thrilled to announce that Fall 2026 auditions are now open at two locations: Knoxville on August 24th and 31st, and Johnson City on August 30th. Whether you are a seasoned performer or a first-time singer, we encourage you to come as you are. Our auditions are welcoming, low-pressure, and designed to let your natural voice shine.

Music Education Initiative Expands to New Schools

AppEC’s outreach program is bringing inclusive music programming to schools across the Knoxville metro area.

AppEC’s community education initiative is growing. This spring, the chorus partnered with three additional Knoxville-area schools to deliver inclusive, affirming music programming to students of all backgrounds. The curriculum introduces choral music, singing technique, and the transforming power of collective harmony — reinforcing values of inclusion, equality, and self-expression.
